Early access to a special project
For the past two years, I've been working on a special free app. It's finally available and I want you to be the first to have access to it.
Dear fellow beautiful voyagers,
When I started working at Pinterest, two and a half years ago, I was lucky to get to spend a portion of my time working on a special project created by a scientific nonprofit organization called The How We Feel Project. Founded by Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann and early CRISPR pioneer Feng Zhang, our first app was a free survey that let anyone self-report COVID-19 symptoms and anonymously share the data with scientists and doctors at the Broad Institute of MIT and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
This new app, the one I am sharing with you today, is designed to help everyone better understand their emotions. Our very small team partnered with Dr. Marc Brackett and his team at the Yale University Center for Emotional Intelligence to build a new kind of journal for mental health. Our ambition for this app is huge: we want to provide a FREE resource to help everyone understand and use their emotions in daily life.
Please note that this early beta version is on iOS only (sorry, no Android yet). It includes dozens of research-based step-by-step strategies and videos to support healthy emotion regulation.

The page will ask you for your email address so that we can invite you share your feedback via survey or live session with Dr Brackett, me, and the rest of the team that built How We Feel.
To say that I’m excited for people to use this app would be an understatement. There needs to be a special word for the feeling you have when something you’ve been working on for years finally starts to get feedback. Heartexplosion, anyone?
