Happy Memorial Day Americans! And happy day to all voyagers everywhere.
I write this newsletter to cement ideas in my brain. Today I want to cement the advice given to me by Kevin Kelly, author of Excellent Advice for Living, when I interviewed him for the Beautiful Voyager podcast last week:
Keep growing.
I think everybody alive — and I believe this in the truest part of my heart —is an artist, is a creator, is someone who can make something. Whether you're a cook or whether you’re a seamstress. Whether you're a plumber or whether you are an inventor or whether you are a scientist.
You are a creator potentially. Not everybody has that opportunity and that's the reality and I'm trying to enlarge us so that we can equip everybody to unleash the creative part.
And if you are doing something creative and making art, it's not selfish. You owe it to us to make art. It’s something we want you to make. As frivolous or as personal as it is.
It’s ours as much as yours. So when you're making art, you're doing a great thing. You should be glad you get to do it. Thank you for doing it.
Your creativity is not selfish. It is something the whole world needs.
Voyagers help others through creative self-expression. Learn more about Christopher, Bryce and Olga in the Meet a Voyager series.
Love, Meredith
p.s. I often include my favorite new articles and podcasts in this email, but I’m gonna experiment in sharing in Substack chats instead this time, just to see what happens ;)
